The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) is offering Indigenous Scholarship for MS/M.Phil/Bs students. This Indigenous scholarship is available to local students who want to pursue their MS/M.Phil/Bs degree program in different universities of Pakistan.

The specific objective of this 5000 Indigenous Scholarship scheme is to create a critical mass of highly qualified human resources in all fields of studies taught at the advanced level in local universities. These locally qualified academics and researchers will, in turn, improve the R&D potential of public as well as private universities as well as strengthen the local industrial sector.

Scholarship Benefits

The HEC Indigenous scholarship is a fully-funded scholarship for Pakistani students in 2019. It provides the Pakistani scholar a full tuition waiver, accommodation, research grants, travel fares, and other related educational expenses.

In the PHASE-I of the 5000 HEC Ph.D. Fellowship, scholars receive Rs. 10,000(MS/MPhil) and Rs. 13,000 (Ph.D.) per month; Book allowance of Rs. 5,000 per year; Thesis evaluation from abroad charges on completion of Rs. 18,000once during the award lifetime; and Thesis charge of Rs. 5,000 in the last year of the scholar’s program.

Eligibility Criteria:

Pakistani/AJK nationals.

For MS/Mphil, the Candidates must have minimum 16 years of education at the closing date of application i.e. March 28, 2020 with no 3rd division or grade-D in degrees/certificates during entire academic career.

The candidates who are already availing any other HEC/Government Scholarship are not eligble to apply.

This offer of scholarship is valid for full-time, regular students, while in case of employment, study leave will be required for full duration of study program.

Applicants are required to submit only online application through (eportal.hec/gov.pk). hand copy of applications and any other documents are not required at this stage.

Original online deposit slip/ATM transfer slip of Rs. 500/- (non-refundable) as application processing fee in favour of director general, finance, HEC. Fee can be deposited through any bank in account number 1742-79001334-01, Habib bank limited.
